In 1958, a group of nine artists formed the Society of Animal Artists after receiving an enthusiastic public response to an exhibition titled Animal in the Bronx Zoo. On Saturday, experience the Briscoe Western Art Museum’s fall exhibition, Art and the Animal, as it comes to life at the Wild West, Wildlife! community day.
Fun for the entire family, Wild West, Wildlife grants visitors the opportunity to create memorable wildlife crafts, interact with native wildlife, experience hands-on demonstrations, and much more! Admission is free and includes access to the museum.
The Society of Animal Artists is devoted to promoting excellence in the artistic portrayal of the creatures sharing our planet, and to the education of the public through art exhibitions, informative seminars, lectures, and teaching demonstrations. The SAA’s membership, past and present, represent a veritable who’s who of artists from around the world.
Through the preservation of the art, history, and culture of the American West, the Briscoe Western Art Museum inspires and educates the public with engaging exhibitions, educational programs, and public events reflective of the region’s rich traditions and shared heritage.
Check out the latest exhibit to open at Briscoe Western Art Museum, Art and the Animal, this weekend! Whether you’d like to participate in Wild West, Wildlife or head straight to the galleries, the choice is yours. Admission to the festival is free and includes access to the museum. Regular-priced admission to the museum ranges from $5 to $10. For more information, visit www.briscoemuseum.org.
